I heard a phrase that bothered me a little

It was indigenous Americans with "African blood" what the hell does that mean?

Are we so sensitive to social and political labels that we are trying to distance ourselves from who we may have been related to?

I am proud to be descended from slaves. Slaves that were sold into bondage and sent to a foreign land. Slaves that lost all connection to their families past history and all that was familiar to them.

With that burden behind us every Negro in America has become a Freeman. What are you doing with your freedom?

I will never shun my past, there is no shame in knowing the truth about your past and improving on it.

Moving yourself further away from the so called "them" is foolish because one day you might need "them".
